Day one: Fly to La Paz, Baja California, known by the locals as the “City of Illusion,” because of the way it will twist ones sense of direction. This makes the visitors feel as though sun has set in the east. Upon arrival at the airport, you will be transferred to your hotel. Hotel in La Paz, La Concha. Welcome dinner and overnight (D)
Day two: Early in the morning, we will depart for Magdalena Bay. This deep-water bay, with shores embroidered with mangrove thickets and salt marshes, is a nursery for sea and birdlife. The water teems with sardines and herring making this a perfect place for the Gray whales. Lunch will be in a local restaurant, upon arrival at Puerto San Carlos. Arriving in Puerto San Carlos is truly arriving into "Old Mexico", with its dirt roads and tiny cantinas. During the afternoon, we will begin our wildlife adventure navigating in the shallow lagoons for bird and whale watching. Puerto San Carlos, Alcatraz - dinner and overnight. The Alcatraz Hotel is quaint, rustic and comfortable, and the staff is accommodating and genuine, with some of the best authentic food you'll ever savor. (B, L, D)
Day three: After breakfast, we board our boats again for another great opportunity with the whales in the Magdalena Bay. Afternoon at leisure and dinner at the hotel - Puerto San Carlos, Alcatraz (B, L, D)
Day four: Enjoy this morning at leisure, before returning to La Paz for an evening of shopping. Check in at our hotel for dinner and overnight - Puerto San Carlos, Alcatraz . (B, L, D)
Day five: We will spend the day exploring the Sea of Cortes, as we visit the beautiful and intriguing Espiritu Santo Island, enjoying a large variety of birds that populate this island in addition to a closer look of the Sea Lion colony. We will have a Picnic lunch on a pristine secluded beach. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight - Puerto San Carlos, Alcatraz . (B, L, D)
Day six: After breakfast, we depart for our visit to Bahia de Todos los Santos. This beautiful town has been distinguished for its cultural vocation, the home for painters, sculptors and artisans enjoying this small oasis with century old brick an adobe homes that line the narrow streets. Lunch will be at a local restaurant before our return to the city of La Paz. Enjoy a city tour during the afternoon; a band of mutineers looking for an island of Amazons and pearls first discovered La Paz. Evening is at leisure to visit the city or just enjoy a nice sunset from the hotel - Hotel in La Paz, La Concha. (B, L, D)
Day seven: Breakfast is at the hotel and then transfer to the airport, for a flight home. (B)
Tour package includes round trip air with home and hotel transfers, six nights’ accommodations, seventeen meals and sightseeing listed in the itinerary, baggage handling (1 per person). Pricing is based on a Phoenix departure, other city departures are available.
Not included in the package are the gratuities for all drivers, guides and hotel staff.
Full refund, less an administrative fee of $50 per person if canceled more than 90 days before the tour, for cancellations 90 – 61 days before the tour there is a $450 penalty per person. 50% refund per person if canceled 60-31 days before tour. No refunds for cancellations with less than 30 days notice. If Synergy Tours & Cruises cancels the tour for any reason all paid participants will receive a full refund.
Synergy Tours offers a Trip Cancellation/Medical Travel Insurance. Insurance to protect your travel investment is highly recommended; it is the responsibility of the passengers to purchase the optional insurance. We can get your insurance with about a five-minute phone call; call us for a quote or the form.
Synergy Tours & Cruises reserves the right to make changes in the itinerary whenever, in their sole judgment, conditions warrant, or if deemed necessary for the best interest of the group, safety or due to conditions beyond control. It is understood and agreed that, Synergy Tours & Cruises and their representatives act only as agents for the suppliers and will not be responsible for any damage or loss (monetary or personal) occurred from any cause what so ever. Itinerary may change due to possible operating changes made by participating attractions and restaurants.
Note: The Alcatraz hotel does not have a website and is the only one of two in town recommended for tourists.
