Travel south towards Tucson and travel through Saguaro National Park, on our way to Old Tucson Studios. The saguaro has been described as the monarch of the Sonoran Desert, as a prickly horror, as the supreme symbol of the American Southwest, and as a plant with personality. It is renowned for the variety of odd, all-too-human shapes it assumes, shapes that inspire wild and fanciful imaginings. Giant saguaro cacti, unique to the Sonoran Desert, sometimes reach a height of 50 feet in this cactus forest, which covers the valley floor, rising into the West Tucson Mountains. Preserved within the park are many other cacti, desert trees and shrubs, and animals. In lushness and variety of life the Sonoran Desert far surpasses all other North American deserts

Old Tucson Studios is Hollywood in the Desert, since 1939. From western movie heroes like John Wayne to current box-office stars such as Leonardo Di Caprio, many of Hollywood's legends have walked these rugged streets, the setting for hundreds of major motion pictures. You are invited to retrace the boot steps of your favorite stars and spend a day in the life of an 1880's Western town. Today, you can re-live the Wild West with famous gunfight re-enactments, saloon hall musicals, high-flying stunts and stage shows. Enjoy a tour of the movie locations, or when in production, catch the "action" of another Western classic in the making. It's a day filled with fun, excitement and real history. Fabulous dining with plenty of choices to tickle your taste buds, from tasty barbecue ribs, beef, chicken, mesquite-fired ground-chuck burgers,  foot-long bratwurst, hot-dogs, pretzels, popcorn, pastries, homemade fudge, and ice cream!
