The safety and well-being of all customers, passengers, staff and employees is of primary importance. To assure that you know what to do in the event of an emergency, please become familiar with this crisis management plan. Tour guides, escorts and management should also be familiar with our suppliers’ crisis management plans, which are on file in the office. The purpose of this document is to set an in house procedure for handling crises or emergencies that may unexpectedly arise.
1. WHAT is a crisis or emergency?
The following events are some situations, which must be handled under this plan, but not limited to:
a. Declaration of War on or by the United States or the country visiting.
b. Terrorism Activity on the United States or the country visiting.
c. Military Conflict in the United States or the country visiting.
d. All transportation stoppages, breakdowns, crashes or accidents related to travel.
e. Natural Disasters or Threats in the United States or the country visiting.
2. Before all travel and events, the office staff shall check for any possible State Department Advisories, National Weather Service and CLIA travel alerts. Synergy Tour Resources Inc will also supply all staff with all needed contacts and phone numbers.
3. When involved in or responding to a crisis situation the priority is to:
a. REMAIN CALM. Set an example of strength and fortitude despite what the circumstances are.
b. Make sure that all public emergency response agencies (911 where available) are in route to the
situation with as much accurate information as possible (location, what type of situation, # of people,
likelihood of injuries, etc.)
c. Decide if it is SAFE to remain in that location. If not, try to move to a safe location. People react
differently and it is necessary to evaluate and adjust according to those reactions.
d. Take immediate actions needed to aid in people’s health and well-being.
e. Notify and keep updated and in the “loop” the following:
1. Emergency Response Agencies.
2. Management and staff of Synergy Tours and other identities involved with this travel or event.

5. Family of people involved as soon as possible.
f. Plan for ongoing and new issues related to the situation.
g. Keep statements to the press as brief and factual as possible.
h. Keep our office open and operating as normal as possible.
i. Consult legal counsel as soon as possible, never admit guilt or responsibility.
j Gather as much written information and photographs as possible.
4. Crisis Management Team:
a. Notify the team members as soon as possible.
b. Team is to insure that the plan above is under control and running as smooth.
c. Establish a designated spokesperson, for all media statements and press releases.

5. Post crisis management; evaluate make changes to plan if needed. Keep communications open with customers, suppliers and the insurance companies.
